I think the mega casino plan is a good new for the spanish economy. But on the other hand, the idea of build a Big Casino in Spain, is against with a important part of my principles, because I don't like the waste of money that casinos means.
ReplyDeleteIs difficult to me to decide if I agree or disagree with that politics of consumerism.
Spain needs a big economic change; and I think it isn't the best form to get it, but it would be a chance to increase our economy.
And about the debate of the best spanish city, Barcelona or Madrid, to place the 'Eurovegas', in my opinion is Madrid, because, althought Barcelona has the sea, it isn't a "much cooler" city than Madrid. Madrid receive an important amount of businessmans who will spend her profit in the city, and we, the psychologists, could treat their adiccion. (It is an sarcastic idea with a little of imagination about that point).
I’m not agree with this project. First of all I don’t like people who come with a list of conditions because if you are interested on doing a project in one country you have to respect the rules of this country, then if you don’t like it you can go out. Secondly, I think that actually we are in a difficult moment with economy and a lot of unemployment and this man wants to take advantage, but politicians should know what impact will have this in the Spanish society.
ReplyDeleteCertainly, the project is a great push to the spanish economy and will create too many jobs but I think that is not the solution there are many other. Also, I don't like a project like this because the game generates several problems for too many people and can create another problems in our society that the game usually attracts.
Any initiative is good if this initiative is good for the city. A casino could create more jobs, more tourism and so, more money!! Although, the idea isn't the best, because a casino can bring some problems, like drugs, alcoholism, delinquents...
ReplyDeleteI think Spain have to differentiate itself for other things. The Government would have to support to young workers, creating new business and the most important the Government should set up priorities : more money to public health, more money to education, more money to green areas in big cities, less money to Government workers, more quality of management, more equality between everybody...
A casino is a good idea if you want to earn easy money faster, but you don't away the rest of problemas.
I think this initiative would be good for some cities, but I think Madrid and Barcelona have to many people and a casino wouldn't be good in that way.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand there are so many cities in Spain hope to create work, so I think the casino must be built in others cities, like Teruel, Badajoz, Valladolid, Segovia..but it's true that Madrid and Barcelona are the best comunicated and its have more things to do.

ReplyDeleteThe end of the first paragraph said "Generate up to 200000 jobs" , but what kind of customers will it come in ?...
I think that Mr. Adelson only wants to build his casino just wants to be the richest but not with the Spanish conditions and must respect the rights of workers such as social security.
First they need the consent of spain´s national government.
Finally I am not agree with this kind of project.
When I listened it for the first time it seemed to me a great idea to raise the Spanish economy. We are in a bad epoch and it seemed interesting. Vegas in Madrid. However when I discovered more about that I changed my opinion. Initially I agreed with the project because it would suppose more money for the country and more working places, but few days after I read that the director of the project would contract Americans for the working places. In addition, in Spain there is a lot of corruption, and this might be used like an instrument to whiten money that come from illegal activities. On the one hand I believe that if we were good civils the project would be a great opportunity for the country, but on the other hand I believe that it might be a source of corruption. In addition, all the casinos take problems as the compulsive gambling or other diseases that do damage to the families.
